Advance Appointments

To book an advance appointment with a clinician, please ring the surgery on 0114 2263535 or visit the reception desk.

Same Day Appointments

To see a GP/Nurse on the same day, contact the surgery by telephone or call in to Reception from 8.00a.m. to book an appointment.

If you wish to be seen by a specific Doctor or Nurse please ask reception at the point of making the appointment.  We will try to meet your request for advance appointments but this cannot be guaranteed for drop in appointments.

We recognise that sometimes getting an appointment may not be easy, but we offer various alternatives, such as a mixture of pre-bookable and same day appointments with GPs, Nurses and Healthcare Assistants as well as access to Midwives, Health Visitors, Counsellors, Smoking Cessation Workers and Pharmacist.

When phoning in you will be asked for the reason for your request, this will be so we can assign the best appointment for you.  Did you know that your local chemist can now handle many minor ailments? If you do not pay for your medication, this can be extended to the chemist on prescription items. Further details can be found under the section relating to the “Pharmacy Scheme”.

We always try and place you with the doctor of your choice but that may not always be possible. Please note all doctors and locums have full access to your full record.

Interpreters

If you require an interpreter, please ask at the time of booking.

Missed Appointments

When patients fail to attend a pre-booked appointment it prevents someone else being seen. If patients frequently fail to turn up or give enough cancellation notice (24 hours) they may be asked to register elsewhere.
